Times are vastly changing, and COVID-19 is reshaping the way we live and conduct business.

Over the past month and a half, we’ve adjusted our content calendar and strategies to adapt to what many calls as the “new normal.” We’re changing the way we interact with our partners, staff, and are mindful of the content we create.

With that said, we understand that some can afford to close their doors for the time being. But other companies need to have a business-as-usual mentality because that is their source of income, their lifeblood.

Whichever side of the boat you’re in, it’s always good to know how you can address your followers, subscribers, and loyal consumers this Memorial Day, May 25, 2020. For some of us, Memorial Day is a long weekend, which many consider is the unofficial summer kickoff.

Here are some ideas for you and your brand this Memorial Day weekend.

  1. Send out a simple email to all your subscribers about the importance of celebrating this holiday. Maybe some of us have forgotten the meaning and purpose of Memorial Day. Honor the men and women who have died while serving our country.
  2. Honor all the men and women who have sacrificed their lives by posting a simple message on all your social media platforms.
  3. It’s also a great opportunity to honor the veterans and service members by offering them and their loved ones weekend-long promotions. Make sure your promotions follow stay-at-home or social distancing protocols.
  4. We’re uncertain about how summer 2020 will still look like, but there’s nothing wrong about marketing for summer. The warmest season of the year is still exciting. Send an email campaign promoting summer-related products.
  5. Are you a restaurant adjusting to the COVID-19 situation? Release a summer menu your loyal customers will love. Setup a curbside pickup station or add your restaurant to food delivery apps like Postmates or GrubHub.
  6. Hold a spring-cleaning sale on your website and promote it on your social media. Make room for all your summer goods and products and offer discounts on spring and winter goods, products, or services.
  7. If you’re conducting a site-wide sale or promotion, make sure it’s for the entire weekend. This way, you’ll be able to maximize your sales and profits.

We are living in unprecedented times, and the way we adapt to these changes will determine the longevity of our brands.
